Privacy Policy — Numzi iPad app
Last updated: 19 October 2026
The Numzi iPad app is owned and operated by Ravish Qureshi, an individual proprietor based in India. In this document, "Numzi", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Ravish Qureshi, operating under the brand name Numzi.
This policy covers the Numzi app for iPad (from the App Store). The Numzi website, numzi.school, works differently and has its own privacy policy. If you use both, each policy covers what happens in that product.
The short version: your child can play without an account, and the app collects nothing about your child. When your child speaks to the app, the voice is understood on the iPad itself and never leaves it — not to us, not to anyone. There are no ads, no third-party analytics and no tracking. There is no Numzi account in the app: a subscription belongs to your Apple ID, and we keep only Apple's record that it is active. Anonymous usage is shared only if you say yes.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Ravish Qureshi, an individual proprietor in India, operating as Numzi. You can reach us using the contact details at the bottom of this page.
2. What the app collects
- To play: nothing. The games work without an account. Your child's progress and the app's settings are stored only on the iPad.
- No account. The app does not ask for your name, email or phone number. A subscription belongs to the Apple ID that bought it.
- Subscription: subscriptions are bought through Apple; Apple handles the payment and we never receive your card or bank details, your name or your Apple ID. We keep Apple's signed record of each subscription — its transaction number, the plan, whether it is in its free trial, active, cancelled or ended, and its renewal date — so we know it is active. This record does not identify you.
- Anonymous usage — only if you choose to share it. The first time you open the "For grown-ups" area, the app asks whether to share anonymous usage, and you can change your answer there at any time. If you say yes, the app may send us which games and levels are played and whether the microphone heard the word, with a random identifier the app creates for this purpose. It is never linked to your subscription, never includes a name, a voice recording or anything your child says, and is used only to improve Numzi. If you say no, nothing is sent.
We do not ask for, and the app does not collect, your child's name, birthday, photo, location or contacts.
3. The microphone and your child's voice
- Some activities invite your child to say a word or a sentence out loud. The iPad asks for permission first; you can refuse, or turn it off later in the iPad's Settings → Numzi.
- Everything happens on the iPad. Speech is turned into text by Apple's on-device speech recognition and checked by speech models built into the app. No audio, and no text of what was said, is sent anywhere — not to Numzi's servers, not to any other company.
- Nothing is recorded or saved. The microphone is on only while an activity is listening, and it switches off when the child answers, the activity moves on, or the app leaves the screen.
- Every activity can be played without the microphone.
4. Children
- Numzi is made for young children to use with a parent or guardian. Children do not create accounts and cannot buy anything.
- Everything meant for adults — purchases, restoring or managing a subscription, the sharing choice, and any link that leaves the app — sits behind a parent check that a young child cannot pass.
- There is no advertising of any kind, no third-party analytics, and no tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
5. How we use it
- To provide the subscription you bought through Apple, and show it in For grown-ups.
- If you chose to share it, to understand which parts of the app are used, so we can improve them.
- To answer you when you contact us, and to meet legal obligations.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We use these service providers, only to run Numzi:
- Supabase — stores the subscription records and, if you chose to share it, the anonymous usage.
- Vercel — hosts numzi.school, which receives the subscription records from the app and from Apple.
- Apple — the App Store, In-App Purchase, and the on-device speech recognition described above (which runs on the iPad and does not send your child's voice to Apple).
Each of them is bound to protect your data at least as well as this policy does. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users.
7. Stored on the iPad
The app keeps your child's progress, its settings and your sharing choice on the iPad. Deleting the app removes all of this. Your subscription stays with your Apple ID; manage or cancel it in For grown-ups or in the iPad's Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
8. How long we keep it
- Subscription records are kept while the subscription runs and for up to 24 months after it ends, or longer only where the law requires it.
- Anonymous usage, if you chose to share it, is kept for up to 24 months and only in a form that cannot identify you.
- You can also ask us by email to delete your data; we will do it within 30 days.
9. Your choices and your rights
- Change the sharing choice at any time in For grown-ups.
- Turn the microphone off in the iPad's Settings → Numzi.
- Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. As a parent you may also review or delete any information about your child and refuse its further collection. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or to the authority where you live.
10. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with our providers under access controls. Our server accepts only subscription records signed by Apple.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
